Archmere’s "Imagine Brandywine" Student Exhibition at the Brandywine River Museum

One-hundred and seven works of original art created by eighty-three Archmere Art students are now on display at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA, through October 16th, 2023. Original student artwork was created across all four grades in four distinctive elective courses, including Introduction to Design, Junior Portfolio 2D Design, Photography, and Illustration.

Students created original works of art to connect to the exhibition Visionary Nature featuring the work of Joseph Stella, now on view at the museum until September 24th, 2023. They researched Italian American artist Joseph Stella's (1877-1946) nature-based subjects, and were inspired to create botanical paper collages, photography, and works of digital art exploring the design principles of repetition and symmetry. Whether working in traditional studio media or creating digital composites in Photoshop, students explored flattened and illusionistic space and drew inspiration from the oeuvre of this important and visionary Italian-American artist.

Friends and family of Archmere Artists are invited to a special reception celebrating our student artists on Sunday, September 17th at the Brandywine River Museum from 1-3:00 p.m. Complimentary curator talks about the Joseph Stella exhibition Visionary Nature on view will also be offered for Archmere guests every half hour during the reception.

To celebrate our artists, admission is free for the Archmere community. When arriving at the museum, simply let the front desk know that you are there for the Imagine Brandywine Exhibition in order to be guaranteed free admission to the museum and exhibit. The Archmere student exhibit is now on view until October 16th, 2023.
